As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental management, Yalumba has introduced three new wines which have been made from organically grown grapes. All grapes were selected from two South Australian vineyards which have been certified by the Soil Association of the UK and NASAA Australia as approved organic producers.
Small quantities of Viognier and Shiraz were produced from the Barich family vineyard in Loxton and a Shiraz from the vineyard of Adrian Strachan in McLaren Vale. | | The grapes for this wine were harvested from two family-owned vineyards that have been organically certified for more than ten years. The Barich family vineyard is located on the River Murray at Loxton. The Strachan family vineyard is located in the Sellicks foothills subregion of McLaren Vale. Meticulous hand detailed work in both vineyards ensure the grapes are in perfect condition when picked. Previous Vintages2009 |
 | | The wine is deep purple in colour and shows a complex rich, ripe black fruit nose. The palate is dense but soft with dark fruits, lots of weight and texture and lingering sweet oak flavours. Previous Vintages2005 |
 | | The 2006 vintage caused some concern with early warmth in January, however its only effect was to bring forward the flavour ripeness a little earlier than usual. Vigilance and attention in the vineyard helped make a wine of excellent varietal flavour and tannin structure. Previous Vintages2007 | 2006 | 2005 |
 | | The wine is a pale gold with green hues. The aroma is intense white flowers - particularly honeysuckle and apricot nectar. The palate is rich and long, with citrus and tropical fruit flavours.
